SPORTIVE PROGRAM

In the world of sports, there are few social, economic or racial barriers.

However, only the rich in Calcutta can enjoy the wonderful golf courses, cricket and polo grounds. There aren't many opportunities to develop a professional sports career in the slums of Calcutta.

Taking advantage of an old soccer field next to our shelter, we have recently set up a soccer club, where 35 kids from the neighboring villages are taught sports skills and values. Our goal is to create a school for those players who show exceptional promise, and to promote not only their sporting talents, but also to help them with their studies. At the moment, they are also taking English classes and computer studies.

We are also sponsoring three girls in this program who have shown remarkable prowess in athletics
