TRAINING AND SELF EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM
The centers where we set up our schools are also used for sewing classes, with the aim of training women to be professional seamstresses. From the outset, this program has been a great success and has enabled us to gain the trust and confidence of the people who live in the slums. Today, more than 300 women are training with us.
We are committed to teaching the poor and disenfranchised professional skills and to creating employment opportunities for them. Our most successful achievement in this area has been the Incense Factory, which we established next to the Shelter Home.

In July 2001, we set up another project: a Sewing and Design Workshop. With the support of Esther Cañadas, women learn to design and make clothes, with the eventual goal of producing them under the Sabera trademark. In the meantime, their work is dedicated to making all the clothes for the girls who live in the Shelter Home. 25 women are now working, thanks to this project.
